Bethlehem --

MB Mechanical - After careful consideration of the safety of everyone involved, it was decided to seal the classroom duct chaseways and postpone the ERV ductwork portion of the project. Once the chaseways were sealed, EOC Environmental performed air quality testing and cleared all affected classrooms of any hazardous materials.

MB then shifted focus to preparing the roof for the rooftop ERV units. The roof curbs were installed and sealed, and the ERV units were successfully craned into place. The attic ductwork will be installed this week in preparation for us to return and complete the remaining ERV work during winter break.

The electricians were also onsite to run power to the ERV units and the duct heaters located in the attic area. A planned power outage was scheduled for several hours Wednesday morning while returning staff were attending professional development at another location, minimizing the impact to the school.

On the boiler side, MB completed the remaining piping and installed the domestic hot water system. The exhaust venting and fresh-air intake system were also installed. The Factory start up of the boilers was completed early this morning and the boilers are up and running providing hot water to the school. The school will be ready to open on Monday!

Presby Energy - Final inspections of the gas lines and regulator installation were completed this week and passed.

Presby also patched the trench that had been excavated across the back side of the parking lot with asphalt. The tank farm bollards were installed and filled with concrete, and all regulators are now in place and have been inspected in preparation for the boiler startup.

ENE - ENE was onsite this week to begin the classroom thermostat and controls wiring. They will be installing cable raceways using VHB tape to avoid disturbing the existing paint throughout the school.

The ERV controls wiring will also be completed after hours. ENE will need to return during evening hours over the coming weeks to complete their remaining portion of the project.

Lafayette --

DHI - We are currently experiencing an issue with one Modine classroom unit ventilator. It appears the unit may have either a faulty main control board or incorrect programming.

We have been working with Modine to troubleshoot the issue, but their response time has been slower than we would like. DHI has requested that a factory technician come onsite to diagnose the issue and provide a permanent solution.

The sealing contractor was onsite last week and completed the special sealant application on the entryway cabinet heaters. With the exception of the one unit experiencing the issue, the project is now 100% complete.

ENE - ENE has been onsite multiple times over the past few weeks to troubleshoot the unit ventilator issue. Unfortunately, they have not yet been able to resolve the problem.

They have been included in all communications with Modine and have been very responsive and helpful throughout the troubleshooting process. We appreciate their continued efforts to get this final unit operational.

Axion - Axion experienced a slight delay due to scheduling conflicts at another jobsite. I am currently working with them to schedule their return for September 4th to complete their remaining portion of the project.

We also received a quote from Axion to replace the garage door, and the work has been approved. This will not result in any additional cost to the school, as EMC will absorb the cost of the garage door replacement.

Profile --

Presby Energy - Presby Energy was onsite this week to complete the tank farm installation. They cleaned up the site and reworked the tank pad area to improve drainage away from the wetlands and roadway.

They also excavated the gray water discharge line that had been damaged during the previous trenching work and completed the necessary repair. Nate and I inspected the repair and approved it for burial.

The tanks were purged on August 26th and partially filled. Final connections to the kitchen gas service were completed this morning, August 28th, and everything is now in place and ready for the start of school.

The trench was re-compacted, and an asphalt patch was added to cover the trench and excavation areas.

MB Mechanical - MB Mechanical continued working on the boiler piping inside the boiler room this week. Their electrical contractor was also onsite to complete the boiler wiring.

It became apparent that the boilers would not be ready for startup before school began, so MB installed a temporary domestic hot water heater to ensure the building has hot water for the start of school. They currently anticipate approximately two more weeks of work before the boilers will be ready for factory startup and final connections. Once that work is complete, the temporary DHW heater will be removed.

The propane gas feed line has also been completed and brought down to the tank pad connection. Final connections will be made following pressure testing and inspection by the Fire Chief.

I will be onsite early morning, August 28th, to make sure everything is ready for the start of school. We will also remove the Ram Board from the main hallway and assist Nate with any remaining cleanup that needs to be completed.
